Balfour Beatty Sakti Safety Policy

It is the policy of PT Balfour Beatty Sakti Indonesia that all the Company operations shall be carried out in a safe manner in order to protect employees, and all others who are affected by the work, from risks to their health and safety. The company is committed to progressive improvement in Health and Safety performance in the firm belief that it will have a beneficial effect on business performance. In following this policy:

All  operations will be carried out in a manner compliant with Indonesia Industrial Health and Safety Regulations (Act no. 1 year 1970 on Safety and Manpower Minister’s Regulation no. PER/01/MEN/1980 on Safety and Health in Building Construction. The  company will promote a positive Health and Safety culture by developing a Health and Safety Management System which will, on a step by step basis, organise, plan, implement measure and audit the controls over risks.  This system will be periodically reviewed in pursuit of progressive improvement. All work hazards will be systematically identified, appropriate control measures taken and safety performance monitored and measured on a regular routine basis. Ultimate legal responsibility for Health and Safety liaise with the Company.  The Managing Director accept overall responsibility for policy formulation, implementation and development.  In addition Management and each individual employee have operational responsibility for safety and must comply with all Company Safety Rules, Regulations and Instruction. The Company acknowledges that its employees are a key resource and recognise the need for their development by providing appropriate supervision, instruction and training to enable them to carry out their duties and responsibilities efficiently and without risk to themselves or others. A substantial proportion of our work is carried out by subcontractors and it is the intention of Balfour Beatty Sakti to request them to operate in accordance with this policy.

This policy forms the basis for a reduction in hazard and an improvement in Health and Safety at work.  Its effectiveness will come from the individual and combined efforts of everybody to make it successful.
